Our client, an established General Contractor in the Bay Area, is seeking a Controller to join their team.
Base pay range $170,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
Review and approve monthly bank statements, ensuring compliance with bank covenants.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Prepare and oversee month‑end close procedures.
Monitor project expenditures and compare actual costs against budgeted amounts.
Review and approve invoices, purchase orders, and change orders for accuracy and adherence to budget.
Oversee and manage the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
Collaborate with external payroll service providers and internal stakeholders to streamline processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
Experience in a construction or similar business.
Proficiency in using technology for financial optimization.
Strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance requirements.
Experience with Sage software a plus.
