Early-career Fellow Psychotherapist (MSW, MA, LSW, LPC)
Roamers Therapy is a private practice in Chicago offering individual, couples, child, adolescent, and family therapy. We focus on depression, anxiety, trauma, and interpersonal stressors with a trauma-informed, evidence‑based, LGBTQIA‑affirming approach.
Job Summary Early‑career clinicians are first‑time private practice providers, recent graduates or with limited private practice experience, who receive intensive supervision and structured professional development while providing therapy services in our South Loop and Lakeview offices.
Responsibilities Conduct full‑length (53‑60 minute) psychotherapy sessions weekly. Use evidence‑based modalities (Psychodynamic, CBT, DBT, Gottman, etc.). Refer clients when indicated and intervene during crises. Engage in psychoeducation and maintain strong boundaries. Prepare progress notes within the same calendar day. Attend 1 hour weekly supervision with a licensed clinician. Participate in at least 3 hours of self‑guided professional development per week. Develop and share therapeutic tools and resources. Contribute to team meetings and psychoeducational outreach.
Qualifications MA/MS in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or Social Work or equivalent. Active or pending LPC/LSW license in Illinois. Strong internship experience and at least 2 references. Knowledge of evidence‑based modalities (ACT, CBT, DBT, Gottman, Psychodynamic). HIPAA and professional ethics knowledge (ACA, NASW, etc.). Trauma‑informed care commitment and ability to work in assigned physical office five days a week.
Compensation & Benefits Up to $50,000 gross per year. Fee‑for‑service model. Medical insurance (BCBS PPO). 10 days PTO, 5 days unpaid leave. 401(k) plan and 2% match. Weekly individual supervision and in‑house CEU academy. Starter resources, referral lists, and structured office environment.
