MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C . The hospital’s patient‑first philosophy combines care, compassion, and clinical excellence with an emphasis on customer service in this 900‑bed facility.
What You’ll Do The Production Manager will come with an energetic and results‑driven personality, be a self‑starter who can run with little direction, and have a proven ability to maintain organization and safety in a high‑volume kitchen. This position will be responsible for purchasing as well as direct oversight of the frontline production team.
Directly manage all culinary operations relating to retail, patient feeding, and catering
Maintain schedules; cover the schedule as needed
Implement and standardize all culinary systems and procedures for the hospital
Monitor, audit, implement, and standardize new menus
Be responsible for food and physical safety and annual training for 15 frontline staff
Conduct audits, create action plans based on audit findings, and keep and update GC audit books
Work with vendors on procurement items; be responsible for purchasing manager and purchasing financial audits
Conduct yearly culinary foundations training to all cooks
Improve and standardize catering services, create menus based on client needs
Implement innovative and fresh ideas in retail, catering, and patient services
Create interpersonal relationships with clients in the hospital

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Education Requirement – Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience – 2 Years
Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
