Principal Software Developer, Storage Primitives Join Oracle to build innovative, high‑performance data‑plane services that power the next generation of OCI cloud. The role demands a deep technical foundation in low‑level system design, distributed performance engineering, and a passion for solving complex operational challenges.

Responsibilities

Envision, collaborate with executives, and drive the software design and development for new major data‑plane components.

Define the foundations for next‑generation OCI data‑planes, making deep architectural changes and advocating best practices.

Lead large, cloud‑scale projects and act as a technical mentor and builder within the engineering division.

Perform professional software development tasks, including designing, coding, debugging, and deploying system‑level software.

Champion simplicity, scalability, and operational excellence in a fast‑moving, agile environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience

5+ years of relevant engineering, architecture, or development/operational experience.

Strong experience in C/C++ (preferred) or Rust (preferred).

Proficiency with high‑concurrency systems and low‑level performance‑critical design.

Hands‑on knowledge of Linux kernels, device drivers, performance testing and debugging tools, and high‑performance distributed storage.

Excellent communication, teamwork, and the ability to influence cross‑team processes.

Experience with geographically distributed teams and fast‑paced, startup‑style environments.

Expert knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts and technologies.

Qualifications Career level: IC4. A candidate must be able to operate independently at a senior seniorning level and drive high‑impact initiatives to completion.

Location and Salary Redmond, WA – US$96,800 to $223,400 per year. Bonus and equity may apply.
