We are looking for a transformational technical leader with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems at the system and data‑plane level. We are facing several engineering challenges in critical foundational data‑plane services that power the next‑generation fast‑growing OCI cloud. You will challenge existing engineering assumptions, bring expertise in highly performant, reliable, and available system engineering, and take OCI services to the next level.
This is your opportunity to build innovative solutions for our customers from the ground up. Core to this mission is providing light‑weight infrastructure by developing container runtime systems and light‑weight virtualization for OCI services.
You should be a rock‑solid developer able to dive deep into low‑level systems, design broad distributed system interactions for high performance and scalable Control Plane, and value simplicity and scale. You will work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment and be excited to learn.
With superb technical, research, and analytical capabilities, you will envision, collaborate with executives, and drive the software design and development for new major data‑plane components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure. You will define foundations for the next generation of OCI data‑planes and make deep architectural changes as an outstanding builder and technical leader with an established industry track record.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in defining and evolving standard practices and procedures, specifying, designing, and developing software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with developing, designing, and debugging software applications or operating systems.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Track record of success in startups or dynamic technology‑driven enterprises
5+ years of engineering, architecture, and operational experience in cloud‑scale environments
Expertise in developing Control Plane components for distributed cloud services
Strong programming skills in Java or Rust
Technical leader and an effective team player with excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities
Adept at navigating complex, fast‑evolving software development environments
Quick to learn new technologies, driving and evangelizing process improvements across teams
Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts and technologies
Experience collaborating with geographically distributed teams
Passion for enhancing developer tools through the application of AI technologies

US: Hiring Range in USD from $96,800 – $223,400 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
