Clinic Technician - Outpatient General Surgery Clinic Foundation Health Partners is seeking motivated candidates with prior Medical Assistant experience or individuals on track to earn their CMA within the next 6-12 months to join our General Surgery department. We’re looking for team members who bring a strong clinical foundation, passion for working with children and families, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in a supportive, fast‑paced environment.

Clinic Technicians employed with FHP are eligible to apply for an internal Certified Medical Assistant apprenticeship opportunity, offering a nationally recognized certification through Stepful.

Pay & Benefits

Compensation: $20 to $26.75 per hour based on experience and education

Additional Pay: Shift differential for weekends, annual increases, paid time off

Schedule: 40 hours per week, 5×8 hour day shifts, Monday–Friday

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for exam and treatment by taking vital signs, recording symptoms, and documenting pain scores.

Assist providers with exams and minor in‑office procedures; act as chaperone as needed.

Use universal precautions and PPE; prioritize patient flow through the clinical process.

Act as a resource to clinicians to provide optimal patient care.

Provide clerical support, including completing medical records, labs, authorizations, X‑Rays, and hospital records.

Schedule and reschedule patients; confirm appointments and communicate physician orders.

Maintain a clean, functional environment—cleaning, disinfecting equipment, exam rooms, and storage areas; follow OSHA guidelines.

Perform basic equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs.

Order supplies and monitor inventory, including medication and immunizations.

Develop and maintain communication mechanisms with internal and external customers.

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED or equivalent; working knowledge of medical terminology.

Must complete a medical terminology course within the first six months if not already completed.

Excellent organizational skills, human relations, and communication skills.

Working knowledge of medical terminology, computer literacy, and keyboarding skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Certified Nursing Assistant experience.
