Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to provide critical support during a period of transition. The Senior Staff Accountant will focus on reconciliations, payroll journal entries, and year-end compliance tasks while ensuring accuracy and discretion in all accounting processes. This position is essential to maintaining financial integrity and supporting process improvements as the company migrates systems and workflows.

Key Responsibilities

General Ledger Reconciliations (40%) The Senior Staff Accountant performs monthly reconciliations across accounts. Reviews and verifies accounting processes and bank fees.

Payroll Journal Entries (20%) The Senior Staff Accountant prepares recurring payroll journal entries Completes templates and submit for outsourced processing.

Year-End Compliance (20%) The Senior Staff Accountant manages annual use tax filings and 1099 reporting. Supports audit and year-end close requirements.

Project-Based Accounting Support (20%) Assists with scanning, printing, and organizing documentation. Identifies invoices on autopay and updates payment information during migration. Provides ad hoc support for accounting projects as needed.

Minimum Requirements

Must-Haves: Strong experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and transactional accounting. Proficiency in Sage 300 or similar ERP systems. Advanced Excel skills (SUM, sort, filter; exposure to VLOOKUP and pivot tables). Professional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Work experience prioritized over formal degree requirements. Nice-to-Haves: Prior exposure to outsourced accounting environments. Familiarity with Bill.com or similar payment platforms. Experience supporting system migrations.
