Job Function Accounting / Auditing and Finance
Position Overview Our client is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to provide critical support during a period of transition. The Senior Staff Accountant will focus on reconciliations, payroll journal entries, and year‑end compliance tasks while ensuring accuracy and discretion in all accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
General Ledger Reconciliations (40%) – Perform monthly reconciliations across accounts and review bank fees.
Payroll Journal Entries (20%) – Prepare recurring payroll journal entries and complete templates for outsourced processing.
Year‑End Compliance (20%) – Manage annual use tax filings, 1099 reporting, and audit requirements.
Project‑Based Accounting Support (20%) – Assist with documentation, identify invoices on autopay, and provide ad‑hoc support for accounting projects.
Minimum Requirements
Strong experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and transactional accounting.
Proficiency in Sage 300 or similar ERP systems.
Advanced Excel skills (SUM, sort, filter, VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
Professional written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Work experience prioritized over formal degree requirements.
Nice‑to‑Haves
Prior exposure to outsourced accounting environments.
Familiarity with Bill.com or similar payment platforms.
Experience supporting system migrations.
Personality & Team Fit The Senior Staff Accountant should be highly detailed and precise, with strong judgment in handling sensitive information.
