About the Role
Our client is seeking a
Senior Staff Accountant
to join their team and assist with financial reporting and reconciliations across multiple operating units. This position requires strong technical accounting skills, GAAP and statutory reporting experience, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities for the Senior Staff Accountant
Prepare and review
GAAP and statutory financial reports
for multiple divisions. Perform
account reconciliations
and ensure accuracy of financial data. Assist with
month-end and year-end close processes , including journal entries and reporting. Support
reinsurance accounting
and related reporting requirements. Utilize
Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups)
for data analysis and reporting.
Qualifications for the Senior Staff Accountant
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred). 4-5 years of accounting experience; insurance industry experience highly preferred. Strong knowledge of
GAAP compliance
and statutory accounting. Proficiency in
Excel
(intermediate level: formulas, pivots, lookups). Experience with
PeopleSoft
is a plus. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
Work Environment
Hybrid schedule: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote. Business casual dress code. Collaborative team structure with a supportive leadership team.
