About the Role
The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all aspects of construction delivery within an active healthcare facility. This includes managing schedules, documentation, safety, budgeting, technical reviews, and contractor performance while ensuring minimal disruption to hospital operations. Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage new construction and major renovation efforts within VA medical environments Develop project schedules using MS Project and/or Primavera Review construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, submittals, RFIs, and change orders Conduct site inspections and monitor contractor performance for compliance and quality Prepare cost estimates and support tracking of project budgets and financial reporting Lead construction progress meetings and coordinate with A/E firms, SMEs, government personnel, and subcontractors Ensure adherence to VA standards, federal regulations, and life safety requirements Support space planning, needs analysis, and stakeholder alignment for upcoming work Provide detailed written reporting and project documentation Manage project risks, schedule impacts, and operational constraints in a live medical environment Coach and support project team members while maintaining strong client relationships Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field Minimum of 6 years of experience in commercial construction project management Experience managing complex construction and renovation projects, preferably in healthcare or federal environments Familiarity with GSA, VA, DoD, or other federal project delivery processes Strong understanding of construction methodology, building systems, and code requirements Demonstrated ability to create and manage project schedules and cost estimates Proven experience directing contractors, trades, and project teams Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially with government clients Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and perform in fast-paced environments Seniority level
