Job Description The Sales Director is directly responsible for the sales, growth, customer satisfaction, and gross contributions results within the assigned geographic scope and product portfolio. The role holds direct management of the sales director team and requires transformational leadership to identify strategic channel capability, unlock value at new and existing customers, and assess talent capabilities to meet the AOP. The Sales Director demonstrates growth in the segment and instills commercial excellence within downstream teams, focusing on talent development, management, and succession planning.

Responsibilities

Unlock value with new and existing customers and instill the behaviors within the organization, demonstrating the ability to manage the portfolio (trade up and trade out).

Commit to talent excellence; lead high‑performing teams, outperforming expectations both directly and indirectly.

Strategic mindset: integrate market data, competition, trends, and other factors to develop a commercial strategy aligned with BU strategy while evaluating distribution strategies to grow top‑line.

Manage net sales, team performance and development, and strong value proposition with customers.

Establish sales, growth and margin targets as part of the operating plan and forecast processes with high accuracy.

Monitor business performance against targets and coordinate corrective actions to sales programs and/or processes as necessary.

Identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives to lower sales cost and maximize overall contribution.

Plan, control and direct sales force activities to obtain maximum efficiency, sales volume, growth, and contribution.

Appraise existing sales performance and direct sales programs and objectives within the region.

Ensure the sales team is trained to perform their jobs effectively and manage talent for high performance.

Ensure consistent delivery of “One Amcor Way” under the Value Plus Commercial Excellence Program.

Provide senior management with regular business updates and course of action.

Facilitate integrated/cross‑business decisions on sales and marketing to optimize for Amcor, not the individual business.

Lead, develop, engage, motivate, and assign people; ensure career development and succession planning.

Manage individual KPIs and address gaps effectively.

Implement commercial excellence programs and principles with the sales team.

Model Amcor’s values in all internal and external dealings, exhibiting desired behaviors and approaches.

Oversee development and management of account plans for strategic and/or global key accounts.

Understand and develop relationships with key decision makers; maintain proactive relationships resulting in win situations.

Define customer satisfaction KPIs for key accounts.

Qualifications

University degree in a relevant field; MBA preferred.

10+ years of progressive experience in commercial or adjacent roles in a complex industry (ideally food/healthcare packaging).

Successful leadership and management in national and regional accounts with proven strategies to grow top‑line, develop channel strategy, and demonstrate customer profitability.

Leadership of a complex organizational structure with small, medium, and large accounts, focusing on commercial excellence.

Leadership of a large organization with proven strategies on talent management, succession planning, talent assessment.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and ability to share and engage the organization and customers.

Compensation The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $176,100 to $220,100; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $176,100 to $264,100 depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The role may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan/Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.
