Job Details: Responsible for design, implementation and maintenance of central IT infrastructure and applications, including bulk retrieval (mirroring) and reverse proxying of external software, packages and other components required for our research staff to perform their deliverable project work.

Responsibilities:

Ongoing routine technical maintenance (systems/applications).

Direct end‑user support.

Supply chain validation, capacity planning, upgrades, forecasting.

Other related functions as assigned.

Weekly activity report.

Required Qualifications:

HS/GED and five years of related experience.

At least three years demonstrated experience with Linux‑based server operating systems (Red Hat, Ubuntu or Debian), systems automation experience (Puppet, Salt, Ansible, Chef, CFEngine, or general scripting support in any language).

Candidate will need to obtain a DoD 8570.1/8140 IAT Level II Certification, such as CompTIA CySA+ or Security+, within 6 months of hire date.

Familiarity with common techniques for mirroring or proxying access to externally‑hosted software.

Familiarity with NGINX or Apache.

Familiarity with reverse proxying / load balancing technology.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Applicant must have a dynamic skill set, willing to work with new technologies, be highly organized and capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks and managing their time. The position will require attention to detail, effective problem‑solving skills and excellent judgment. Ability to work independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member without daily supervision and effectively communicate with all groups of clients. Able to work under pressure and accept supervision. Regular and punctual attendance.

US Citizen. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering. Five years direct experience administering enterprise Linux AND Windows Server infrastructure.

Python, shell (Bash), Perl, PowerShell scripting experience.

Eligibility for immediate access to classified information.

Salary Range: $80,000‑$118,000+/negotiable depending on qualifications.

Working Conditions:

Standard office conditions.

Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation, use of manual dexterity. Some weekend, evening and holiday work.

Possible interstate/intrastate travel.
