Vice President IT - Edge Transformation and Services Eaton Corporation is seeking a Vice President IT – EDGE Transformation & Services to join our team. This position can be based at the following Eaton locations: Beachwood, OH; Moon Township, PA; Fort Worth, TX; Raleigh, NC; Southfield, MI; or Milwaukee, WI. Relocation within the U.S. is only offered for the Beachwood, OH location.

Position Overview Reporting to the Vice President and CTO, this role is at the forefront of our technological transformation, modernizing our capabilities into a unified platform that leverages modern EDGE capabilities. The director will drive strategy, vision, architecture, investment, and the primary implementation of AI‑forward Edge capabilities, enabling digital manufacturing and Physical AI across the entire Eaton ecosystem. Transforming connectivity from a commodity to a strategic function will be a key outcome, impacting all of Eaton’s 100k+ employees and contingent workforce across 600+ locations through the next‑generation Edge compute, storage and connectivity solutions.

The Edge transformation and services leader will lead a geographically diverse team of over 70 reports, including leaders of people, employees, and contractors. Collaboration with the broader IT value chains, operational and manufacturing leadership, and IT leadership (CIO and direct staff) is essential. This role will influence and lead the strategy, architecture, design, development, and governance of the end‑to‑end Edge experience, encompassing technology solutions, data flows and process architecture across the enterprise.

As part of the Infrastructure Services value chain leadership team, the position will have significant leadership and interface responsibilities with operational leaders, vendor partners, and information technology product teams across the enterprise. It will also have direct responsibility for the IT profit plan related to the value stream teams and partner with other IT value streams on communications to share our story more broadly, including collaboration with corporate communications.

Essential Responsibilities

Develop and execute a global strategy for EDGE technologies aligned with Eaton’s digital manufacturing and industrial/physical AI aspirations.

Lead, mentor, and engage a global diverse team of approximately 70 employees and contractors across Eaton’s footprint to drive Infrastructure and Edge strategies.

Influence the enterprise technology roadmap for infrastructure management, act as gatekeeper for implementable Edge infrastructure strategies, and drive their implementation delivering initiatives on target, on budget, and on time.

Modernise edge infrastructure, including compute, storage, and networking, to support real‑time data processing, analytics, and AI workloads.

Establish and manage strategic partnerships with technology providers (e.g., AT&T, Cisco, HCL, Dell, MSFT) and ensure solutions are built with business outcomes as a priority.

Set strategy to maximise the use and growth of Edge platforms while returning required investment to the business.

Develop a roadmap for investments in tools, technology, and training (onboarding teams to platforms) ensuring innovation keeps pace with external market conditions.

Partner with the Eaton Cybersecurity organization to establish governance and best practices for Edge security and network operations, leading Edge components of the Zero Trust journey.

Partner with IT Support and Operations Teams (SIS, GSC) to define, establish, and implement strategies for proactively identifying end‑user incident trends and auto‑deploying solutions/fixes/updates via targeted campaigns.

Establish a strategic model for APM and infrastructure monitoring and observability, integrated into the Eaton Cloud Strategy to infer performance anomalies, automatically raise ITSM incidents, and build self‑healing into the cloud and infrastructure strategies.

Ensure high‑quality, on‑time delivery related to key platform modernization programmes, employee experience, productivity, and workplace solutions.

Collaborate with key business and IT partners across LOBs and functions to align technology and business priorities; negotiate and execute programme improvements aligned with business strategy, service quality objectives and financial goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science or related field from an accredited institution.

Minimum fifteen (15) years of IT experience.

Minimum five (5) years of leadership experience in global environments.

Experience developing and executing strategies for EDGE technologies in global matrixed environments.

Experience managing a team of professionals and engineers in technology platforms and solution architecture.

Experience in manufacturing environments / knowledge of manufacturing business processes

At Eaton, we strive to provide compensation and benefits that attract, engage, and retain the best talent. The expected annual salary range for this role is $199,000–$291,000 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
