Responsibilities The Donohoe Companies are hiring a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at a large facility in NW, Washington, DC. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising a team of building engineers, ensuring safe and efficient operation of all building systems in a Class A office environment. Key functions include overseeing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and BMS systems; performing hands‑on troubleshooting and repairs; managing preventive and corrective maintenance through CMMS; and coordinating vendor services. The role enforced safety and compliance standards and delivers exceptional tenant service while supporting the Chief Engineer in operational planning and reporting.
Perform daily, weekly and monthly inspections of systems and associated equipment
Perform preventative and general maintenance on a scheduled basis
Maintain equipment to industry standards
Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, and electrical problems as required and/or as assigned by the supervisor
Provide assistance and support to sub‑contractors designated to perform installation and/or repair of equipment and/or hardware as required
Interface with the building manager and other customer representatives to ensure client satisfaction
Complete daily, weekly, and/or monthly reports of system status as directed by supervisor
Purchase materials and supplies, and maintain inventory as required for timely work completion
Prepare and distribute daily, weekly and monthly reports of system status and work completed
Prepare predictive maintenance on assigned equipment in order to prevent breakdowns and/or outages
Must be able to pass background check
Accurately document work performed on tickets and/or work orders
Hours: Day shift with other hours as needed. Salary: $32‑$35 depending on license/experience.
Qualifications What we’re looking for in your resume:
Preferably 3+ years of commercial building experience with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems
DC 3rd class license preferred
Must be able to pass a background check to obtain a site badge
Troubleshoot and make minor repairs
Equipment – Chillers, Cooling Towers, AHUs, VAVs, FCUs
Hands‑on equipment experience including, but not limited to changing filters, grease bearings, repairing flush valves, stop valves, changing ballast, light bulbs
Requires reliable transportation
High school diploma or GED preferred
Excellent customer service skills
EPA Universal 608 (CFC) license
