Job Description TITLE: Sr. Manager of Maintenance Control Center - Assistant DOM
REPORTS TO: Director of Maintenance
Overview The Sr. Manager MCC / Assistant Director of Maintenance (Assistant DOM) is responsible for the supervision, coordination, and control of all aircraft maintenance activities during active operations, ensuring the aircraft are maintained in accordance with Company policies, FAA regulations, CFRs, OEM maintenance programs, and safety standards. This role serves as a key leadership position within Technical Operations, providing operational control, maintenance oversight, regulatory compliance, and real‑time decision‑making for in‑service aircraft. The position acts as a primary interface between Maintenance Control, Dispatch, Quality, Materials, Planning, and Executive Maintenance Leadership. The role holds the authority to remove aircraft from service for safety or maintenance program concerns and ensures continuous airworthiness and operational reliability.
Skills And Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of combined Line Maintenance and/or Heavy Maintenance experience
Minimum 2 years of Maintenance Control experience
Minimum 3 years in a supervisory/management role in the Maintenance Operations environment
Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification
Proven leadership, motivational and organizational skills
Working knowledge of the Airbus A320 family aircraft
Demonstrated knowledge of airline maintenance operations
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and administer/delegate responsibilities to subordinates as required
Duties And Responsibilities
Continually design/implement action plans to reduce maintenance related delays and cancellations
Create, administer and manage the department’s work schedules including managing and approving vacations, monitoring sick time and absences
Maintain department goals, performance objectives, and training (including recurrent training) of all Maintenance Control personnel
Serve as single point of contact for the Manager of Maintenance and VPTO/DOM regarding daily operations
Effectively monitor and manage the MEL/CDL/NEF process for accuracy
Maintain all One Time On‑Call Maintenance documentation for each event, including all FMIS entries as required
Ensure the requirements of On‑Call and One Time On‑Call Maintenance are performed per the requirements of this manual
Ensure timely audits of all completed overnight work documents and facilitate timely corrections of all noted errors as required
Administer and manage all departmental self‑audits
Participate in the Reliability Board Meeting if directed
Complete in a timely manner all other duties assigned by the Manager of Maintenance or VPTO/DOM
Document and prepare daily progress reports and maintenance logs
FAA Certificated Mechanic possessing Airframe and Powerplant ratings
Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, control and influence a multi‑functional organization for Maintenance Control to ensure activities are accomplished in accordance with Company policies, FARs, Company and OEM Maintenance Programs and other governmental regulations
Coordinate and administer timely ordering and shipment of aircraft parts and equipment to support out of service aircraft
Have authority to remove any aircraft from operational service for safety or maintenance program concerns
Monitor aircraft status, taking appropriate action when maintenance problems arise or when it is anticipated that daily operations will be affected
Coordinate with the Dispatchers concerning MCC/OCC issues and maintenance problems that affect releasing of aircraft
Ensure maintenance assigned the correct checks for the overnight aircraft and coordinate with the Dispatchers on the checks required during day operation
Monitor, report and maintain TRAX for Company maintenance operations
Monitor and control all Maintenance Reliability Reports provided by MCC personnel
Evaluate Technical Operations procedures for effectiveness and recommend revisions as necessary by completing a Management of Change (MOC) per MPP 11.123
Supervise assigned personnel, ensuring dissemination of company policy and procedure changes
Ensure each assigned employee is safety conscious and follows safe work practices and habits
Advise the Materials Administrator regarding necessary additional items, components, or assemblies to be purchased for stock or aircraft improvement
In conjunction with the Chief Inspector, ensure that AMTs have been trained, approved, officially designated and certificated to accomplish Airworthiness Release and “RII” duties
Ensure that AMTs have proper authority to perform engine run‑up and taxi operations
Office Hours And Schedule This is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Miami, scheduled Monday through Friday during standard office business hours. Occasional travel may be required based on operational needs, including aircraft recovery, audits, or special maintenance events. Flexibility is required to support irregular operations, AOG events, and maintenance escalations as needed

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. He or she is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
