Cancer Clinical Research Manager - GI Oncology (Hybrid) Location: Stanford, CA. Hybrid work schedule. Salary range: $124,521 - $153,615 per annum.

Reporting to an Associate Director of Clinical Research, this role supports cancer clinical research focused in oncology. Candidates must be organized, detail‑oriented, professional, proactive, and flexible.

Responsibilities

Hire, orient, train, and conduct performance reviews for staff handling research administration activities associated with clinical trials; monitor staffing levels.

Supervise implementation of study protocols and ensure compliance with policies, processes, and procedures.

Develop strategies for recruiting and retaining research participants in long‑term trials; develop consent forms for Human Subjects Panel.

Coordinate protocol submissions, renewals, and revisions to the Institutional Review Board; complete annual reports to IRB, CSTA, FDA and other agencies; submit Investigational New Drug applications as needed.

Audit laboratory operations to ensure regulatory compliance; lead corrective actions and process improvements.

Identify and complete research grants; oversee financial resources; create internal and external budgets; liaise between sponsors, accounting, and Research Management Group.

Lead or chair committees or task forces; represent the program to internal and external audiences.

Analyze recruitment trends; ensure limited competition among trials; track physician compliance; recommend improvements.

Assist with data analysis and preparation of manuscripts and scientific presentations.

Other duties may be assigned.

Desired Qualifications

Clinical research certification.

Previous experience in oncology, specifically GI oncology.

Experience with clinical trial finance management.

Education & Experience (required) Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years of experience in clinical research, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (required)

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database applications.

Experience with research protocols and regulatory bodies (HIPAA, FDA, IRB, GCP).

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Demonstrated managerial experience.

Certifications & Licenses Society of Clinical Research Associates or Association of Clinical Research Professionals certification is preferred.

Physical Requirements

Frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat and use fine light/fine grasping.

Occasionally sit, reach above shoulders, perform desk‑based computer tasks, use a telephone and write by hand; lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 40 pounds.

Rarely kneel, crawl, climb ladders, grasp forcefully, sort and file paperwork; rarely lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh 40 pounds or more.

The expected pay range for this position is $124,521 to $153,615 per annum.
