EPC Consultant | Assisting Renewable professionals in recognizing and achieving their career goals in the space. About the Company

A fast-growing renewable energy technology company is building software and hardware systems that help solar and wind power plants convert operational losses into revenue. The team operates a vertically integrated stack spanning predictive energy forecasting, real-time control systems, edge computing, and hardware orchestration at scale.

The company is backed by leading climate and deep-tech investors and is expanding deployments across multiple geographies.

Role Overview

The company is seeking a

Senior Controls Engineer

to build core infrastructure that supports large-scale deployments of distributed energy systems. This role focuses on the systems that power deployment, monitoring, reliability, and power plant controller (PPC) integrations across both wind and solar assets.

You will work across the Deploy and Pipeline engineering teams to connect operational control systems with renewable energy plant coordination, enabling the company to scale its footprint and reliability across new energy partners and regions.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain the company’s central Control Center, the primary interface for deploying, monitoring, and managing field infrastructure

Build post-deployment reliability and quality control tools for fault detection, issue triage, and performance benchmarking

Collaborate closely with firmware, hardware, and deployment teams to integrate telemetry, diagnostics, and alerting

Build and maintain PPC integrations to coordinate with wind and solar power plants at the edge

Implement industrial protocols and control logic for interoperability with inverters, SCADA systems, and grid signals (Modbus, OPC-UA, etc.)

Translate grid curtailment, frequency response, and voltage/watt control requirements into actionable compute load modulation

Ideal Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field

2–5+ years of experience building infrastructure, systems software, or industrial control applications

Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python or C++

Familiarity with industrial protocols and real‑time control systems

Experience with cloud platforms and distributed systems

Exposure to renewable energy systems, power electronics, or plant‑level integrations is a strong plus

Strong debugging skills and systems thinking, with comfort working close to hardware and across multiple layers of the stack

Nice to Have

Experience with SCADA or HMI systems

Background in inverter integration, grid‑tied systems, or energy forecasting

Knowledge of containerized deployment (Docker/Kubernetes) or observability tooling

Experience with IoT and edge‑compute devices such as NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi, or similar platforms
