Director of Safety / Assistant General Superintendent
Seeking an experienced safety leader to oversee company-wide safety programs and support field operations. This dual‑role position drives safety culture, ensures regulatory compliance, and assists with managing construction field activities to deliver safe, efficient, and high‑quality projects.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage the corporate safety and risk management program.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable regulations.
Lead safety meetings, inspections, investigations, and training.
Manage incident reporting, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Maintain site safety equipment and documentation (Procore).
Provide quarterly safety performance reports to leadership.
Assist in overseeing daily field operations and project execution.
Coordinate field personnel, subcontractors, and jobsite logistics.
Help maintain project schedules and identify potential delays.
Conduct site inspections for safety, quality, and adherence to plans.
Mentor and support superintendents and field staff.
Participate in project progress meetings and short‑term fill‑in coverage when needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Occupational Safety, or related field preferred.
10+ years of construction experience with strong safety leadership.
Certifications: CSP, CHST, OSHA 30 (required).
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction operations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Proficient in Procore and Microsoft Office.
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.
