Position Overview The Senior Tax Manager – High Net Worth oversees complex trust, estate, gift, and high-net-worth tax engagements; prepares and reviews fiduciary returns and accountings; develops client and referral relationships; mentors staff; and ensures exceptional technical accuracy while supporting the firm’s growth.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and conduct initial reviews of 1041 trust and estate income tax returns.
Prepare fiduciary accountings with working knowledge of state statutes and document review requirements.
Analyze complex tax issues and provide well-reasoned conclusions.
Perform diversified accounting and tax assignments under senior leadership.
Demonstrate strong technical proficiency, adherence to standards, and high-quality work.
Meet client deadlines and manage time effectively.
Participate in firm training and assist in developing technical skills of others.
Deliver exceptional client service through accuracy, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
Build and maintain strong client and referral relationships.
Qualifications
Fiduciary experience required; law firm or trust department experience considered.
Minimum of 8 years’ experience preparing and reviewing 1041, 706, and 709 returns, plus high-net-worth 1040 planning affecting estate and gift tax matters.
Family office fiduciary tax or administration experience is a plus.
Experience working with GST filings, including Forms 706-GS(D) and 706-GS(T), preferred.
CPA required; additional credentials strongly preferred: EA, CFTA, CFP, PFS, or PFP.
