Job Description Summary Director of Automation & Robotics Integration and Commissioning leads GE Vernova’s enterprise team responsible for building and deploying automation solutions globally. This executive guides projects from concept to safe, reliable production at scale, partnering with system integrators, site readiness teams, technology architects, and business stakeholders. The Director sets integration standards and commissioning processes, manages vendor performance, and ensures every automation solution is delivered on time, on budget, and safely, meeting rigorous operational and performance requirements. Reporting to the Director of Robotics & Automation CoE, this leader works cross‑functionally to drive transformation and represents GE Vernova at the highest industry and executive levels.

Essential Responsibilities

Architect and own the enterprise‑wide strategy for integration and commissioning of automation solutions, establishing standards, frameworks, and best practices across GE Vernova.

Lead a high‑performing, cross‑functional team responsible for the on‑time, on‑budget, and secure deployment of automation projects from pilot through full‑scale production.

Directly manage project and program budgets, vendor contracts, and drive ROI through comprehensive vendor and stakeholder management.

Champion vendor performance management, technology selection, and contract negotiations to ensure the delivery of scalable and sustainable automation solutions.

Partner extensively with system integrators, site managers, business unit CEOs, technology architects, IT/OT, HR, Finance, and Communications to identify opportunities, remove barriers, and deliver projects aligned with strategic priorities.

Represent GE Vernova in industry forums, vendor summits, regulatory engagements, and external collaborative partnerships.

Develop and continually refine innovative metrics to assess integration effectiveness, commissioning rigor, and performance outcomes.

Proactively manage safety, compliance, risk, and change management throughout every phase of deployment.

Influence senior leadership on investment, strategic priorities, and technology adoption.

Foster a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement, ensuring scalability, security, and performance of all commissioned automation solutions.

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Operations, or a related technical discipline (Master’s preferred).

10+ years’ experience leading complex integration, automation, or commissioning programs in energy, manufacturing, or industrial settings.

Demonstrated track record in setting enterprise‑wide standards, developing frameworks, and managing major automation deployments.

Proven success managing cross‑functional teams and multi‑million‑dollar budgets within a large, matrixed organization.

Advanced analytical and strategic skills, with a history of solving integration and commissioning challenges creatively and effectively.

Comprehensive commercial acumen, including vendor management, contract negotiation, ROI assessment, and market positioning.

Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience influencing senior executives internally and externally.

Desired Characteristics

Experience leading large‑scale automation deployments in a regulated, safety‑critical environment.

Expertise in vendor partnership management and multi‑stakeholder coalition building.

Recognized thought leadership through industry participation or external engagement.

History of driving transformational change in highly matrixed organizations.

Passion for developing talent and mentoring diverse, high‑performing teams.

Candidates in the New York or Boston area highly desired but open to remote.

Salary: $200,000 to $290,000 USD. Eligible for variable incentive compensation and equity.
