Area Sales Director, Enterprise Sales – Chicago, IL We drive territory growth through new logos and nurturing existing Okta Platform customers. The role requires travel to our Chicago, IL office for in‑person onboarding during the first week of employment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Attract, recruit, hire, and mentor the Enterprise Account Executive sales team.

Create an inclusive, results‑driven culture of accountability and transparency.

Lead by example, set expectations, provide coaching and mentorship, and ensure managers do the same.

Deliver and overachieve against targets, ensuring Okta’s goals are achieved consistently and sustainably.

Analyze data to maximize existing successes and uncover new sales growth opportunities.

Accurately forecast monthly, quarterly, and annual targets; manage pipeline metrics.

Develop, design, and execute the Enterprise Business plan for both short‑term results and long‑term outcomes.

Put in place sales‑force structure, process strategies, and resource plans to capture key opportunities in target markets.

Own the pipeline generation strategy and collaborate with internal stakeholders to execute it.

Maintain market intelligence and define strategies to preserve Okta’s leadership.

Exhibit a growth mindset and articulate long‑term vision and strategy.

What You’ll Bring To The Role

10+ years’ experience building and running Enterprise sales teams in the software industry.

3+ years’ experience as a front‑line sales leader.

Must reside in the Northeast region.

Deep understanding of SaaS/Cloud go‑to‑market and customer engagement roles.

Relevant industry experience (cloud enterprise, infrastructure management, application development, security, business apps, analytics).

Proven record of consistently meeting or exceeding targets as a leader.

Excellent leadership and influencing skills; ability to build strong business partnerships.

Mastery of consultative solution‑selling methodologies (MEDDPICC, Challenger, Solution Selling, Sandler).

Technical aptitude and experience selling to C‑suite executives.

Compensation Annual On‑Target Compensation (OTE) range for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area: $360,000 – $540,000 USD. The actual OTE, inclusive of base salary and incentive compensation, depends on skill, experience, and location. Okta offers equity (where applicable) and benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave).
