Description
Within the Healthcare Industry Group, a subsidiary of A&M, we drive transformational change to the healthcare industry. We provide expertise in interim management, restructuring, revenue cycle management, mergers and acquisitions, compliance and regulatory, digital technology and analytics. Our clients include health systems, physician groups, ancillary providers, medical schools, laboratories, dental and behavioral health, managed care and health plans, government plans, healthcare investors and lenders, medical devices, suppliers and infrastructure, and life sciences.
HIG’s Healthcare Services practice (HCS) focuses on serving private‑equity portfolio companies and public and private healthcare companies. HCS services include performance improvement/operational turnarounds, cost optimization, M&A services, finance operations, and interim management (including CFO services).
Technology Assessment – review and analysis of platform, data and system architectures, and related applications, integrations, infrastructure, processes, and security.
Performance Improvement/Operational Turnaround – assess businesses and identify key areas impeding performance.
Cost Optimization – holistic, cross‑functional approach to identify high‑impact opportunities for EBITDA and cash‑flow improvements.
M&A Services – support companies throughout the M&A lifecycle, including due diligence, integration planning and execution, and divestiture and carve‑out planning.
Finance Operations – improve clients’ finance operations, including management reporting and month‑end close process.
Interim Management – step into executive roles (CEO, COO, CFO, CIO) to drive change while a full‑time replacement is recruited.
How You Will Contribute
As a Director you will work closely with healthcare clients on critical technology assignments. You will gather data, design practical solutions, and drive financial and operational improvements. Typical responsibilities include:
Identify and implement opportunities to significantly reduce cost structure through redesign of technology and operations org structures.
Optimize overall technology stack to drive top‑line and bottom‑line improvement.
Develop IT synergy models, one‑time‑cost profiles, TSA and carve‑out considerations pre‑deal and execute integrations.
Provide guidance during crises and rapid solutions to support performance improvement plans.
Develop operational data analysis and KPI metrics to track and drive meaningful change.
Summarize, draw conclusions, and create recommendations from large data sets.
Lead work streams, managing day‑to‑day engagement priorities.
Prepare client‑ready deliverables and presentations; deliver presentations to clients.
Coach and mentor junior staff; build relationships with clients to expand scope of business.
Support marketing initiatives and assist with pitch preparation and marketing materials.
Help build product and service offering tools and templates.

Qualifications
High energy with a passion for healthcare and solving complex issues.
Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in healthcare, consulting or healthcare industry with a focus on IT.
Experience in acquisition, integration and transformation from an IT deal perspective.
Experience in one or more industry‑leading Clinical Application domains (e.g., EMR/EHR, Practice Management).
Experience in Med‑tech manufacturing applications (e.g., MES, QMS, Inventory Management Systems).
Experience in corporate functional domains (HRIS, ERP/Finance, Cloud Stack).
Advanced analytics and reporting skills; advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Tableau or Power BI, SQL, SPSS, benchmarking.
Solid project management and organizational skills.
Working knowledge of healthcare industry, including finance, operations, valuation and regulations.
Ability to use sound judgment and escalate project issues.
Ability to coach and mentor junior staff.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness and ability to travel as required.
BA/BS degree and/or MBA/MS in Accounting, Finance, or related healthcare fields (MHA or MPH).

Benefits
Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings’ fringe benefits including healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages. A 401(k) retirement plan with discretionary contributions is available. Salary range is $160,000 – $180,000 plus discretionary bonus based on performance.
