Market of Choice is now hiring for a Specialty Cheese Department Manager. This position starts at $24.00 per hour, up to $28.00 per hour, depending on experience. Are you passionate about food? Can you imagine working with cheeses, charcuterie, and accompaniments from around Oregon and around the world? Then we want to meet you! DUTIES
Supervise, schedule, train & evaluate employees Manage purchasing, merchandising & expense control Assist customers in selection and recommendations Keep current and continually expand knowledge of cheese Conduct events Organize, stock, and face the department Perform monthly & quarterly inventory Check deliveries & log invoices daily Enforce company policy & procedures General cleaning and maintenance of sales area QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates will have extensive knowledge of a wide variety of hand‑crafted and artisan cheeses from around the world, superior customer service skills, and strong sales ability including suggestive selling techniques.
