Overview:
A rapidly expanding renewable-energy–focused organization is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the accuracy, organization, and efficiency of its financial operations. This role plays an important part in maintaining clean financial records, supporting daily accounting functions, and ensuring reliable data for leadership decision-making.
The Staff Accountant will assist with maintaining the General Ledger, managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, and completing routine account reconciliations. This position requires a strong sense of ownership over financial accuracy and an ability to identify and resolve discrepancies before they impact reporting or compliance.
Responsibilities:
Reconcile bank and credit card statements, prepare and post journal entries, and maintain the accuracy of the general ledger.
Perform account reconciliations, analyze variances, and prepare supporting schedules for a timely and accurate close.
Process and manage accounts receivable. Create customer invoices, and manage transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
Prepare adjusting journal entries, as needed.
Respond to auditors’ comments concerning reconciliations and operations and address any concerns.
Perform additional accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
1-3 years of accounting experience, including knowledge of financial reporting, payroll and internal controls.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles.
Experience with Sage Intacct.
Advanced Excel skills; proficiency with Google Suite/Workspace.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
