The Software team plays a critical role in implementing, configuring, customizing, and enhancing existing software and other systems to monitor engine performance. The team works closely with Safran Test Cells (STC) customers to ensure STC's software products exceed customer expectations, and provides ongoing support and training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Contribute to the design, implementation and enhancement of Safran Test Cells’ Data Acquisition and Control System.
Own research, design, development, review and testing of complex software and tools, including new products and enhancements of existing applications, systems or embedded products.
Develop, review, and ensure all documentation meets organizational standards, while mentoring junior engineers.
Independently complete assigned tasks, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets, and proactively mitigate potential risks.
Lead and actively participate in design‑review meetings, offering expert insight and innovative solutions for high‑quality deliverables.
Provide comprehensive status updates and feedback on deliverables, ensuring clear communication across teams.
Collaborate closely with the QA group to facilitate thorough and timely formal testing.
Acquire and disseminate advanced knowledge to perform job assignments and drive technological, product and process improvements for Safran Test Cells’ customers.
Conduct customer training sessions and provide expert‑level phone support for Safran Test Cells' software.
Oversee product support through design, implementation, installation and commissioning to ensure seamless integration and customer satisfaction.
Continuously enhance technical skills through ongoing training and share acquired knowledge with the team.
Actively participate in and lead a continuous‑improvement culture by providing strategic recommendations and implementing enhancements to current methods and procedures.
Take on additional responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and leadership in addressing emerging challenges and opportunities.
Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
Extensive structured programming background with 5+ years of software design experience in two or more of the following programming languages: C, C++, C#.
Minimum of 4 years of experience working with LAN‑based instrumentation, including writing drivers for LAN‑based devices utilizing TCP/IP or UDP/IP.
At least 4 years of experience with web technologies, including JavaScript, XML, HTTP and HTML.
Proven experience in writing multi‑threaded software (highly preferred).
Experience and proficiency in LabVIEW (preferred).
