Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, the Aerodynamic and Acoustic Engineer will plan, manage, and execute aerodynamic and acoustic analysis, design, and testing.
The role supports sales proposals through performance predictions and technical presentations, and manages workload with SAFRAN TEST CELLS.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plan and manage the Aero Acoustic Department workload in cooperation with SAFRAN TEST CELLS
Design, analyze, and test aerodynamic and acoustic test cells
Conduct CFD modelling and analysis (flow, thermal, acoustic)
Practice and promote a First‑Time‑Right approach for preparing design deliverables within budget and schedule
Concept, develop and manage SAFRAN TEST CELLS projects and R&D, including regular reporting and analytical scope, cost and schedule estimates
Support sales proposals with analysis, reports, performance predictions and technical presentations
Maintain and improve SAFRAN TEST CELLS aerodynamic and acoustic analysis tools
Provide technical support for model and full‑scale aerodynamic testing
Travel domestically and internationally as required
Perform other duties as assigned
Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical or related field
3+ years of related experience
Experience in CFD and FEA analysis
Engineering project‑management experience
Qualifications
Highly organized, self‑starter, team‑oriented
Strong analytical skills (CFD, FEA, FMECA, risk assessment)
Proficient in CAD/CAE, 3‑D solid modeling (Unigraphics NX preferred), Nastran FEA, MATLAB, Ansys, and Fluent CFD
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Clear and effective written and oral communication
