Overview
Premier Plaintiff’s personal injury law firm is seeking a mid to senior-level
Litigation Associate
to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have experience handling personal injury cases, with a strong legal research and writing background in state and federal court litigation.
This role requires an attorney who is confident in managing cases from intake through trial, handling complex legal issues, and advocating zealously for injured clients. Our practice specializes in all types of serious injury cases, representing victims in car accidents, premises liability, crime victim cases, and maritime injury cases. Applicants with prior federal clerkship experience, graduates from top-tier law firms, and law review are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in Florida.
5-7 years of litigation experience, with a focus on Plaintiff’s personal injury and/or maritime law.
State and Federal court litigation experience is required (admission to federal district courts is required).
Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Ability to handle a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Manage a caseload from inception to resolution.
Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal briefs in both state and federal courts.
Conduct depositions, attend court hearings, and argue motions before judges.
Engage in settlement negotiations, mediation, and arbitration.
Work closely with clients to provide updates, legal counsel, and case strategy.
Collaborate with expert witnesses.
Prepare for and participate in trial proceedings when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience handling cruise ship injury claims for injured passengers and seamen cases. Jones Act, and general maritime law cases.
Routine personal injury cases, including motor vehicle collisions, medical malpractice, premises liability, victims of crime, and wrongful death claims.
Experience taking cases to trial, including first- or second-chair trial experience.
Bilingual skills (Spanish preferred but not required).
Salary $120,000 - $160,000
Performance-based year-end bonuses.
Health insurance paid 100%.
