Human Resources Partner Manager
University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a
Human Resources Partner Manager
to independently manage human resources services for a large department(s), college, or school. The role collaborates with the VP, CIO, Dean, or Executive Director of Administrative Operations and with Central HR on recruitment, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, equity coordination, and more. The manager serves as the first point of contact for HRP‑related issues, directs and communicates HR initiatives, manages and supervises processes, and develops, maintains, and updates standard operating procedures according to UAB policies.
Annual Salary:
$73,945 - $120,165
Responsibilities
Manage human resource services for employees within a large complex department(s), college, or school.
Collaborate with the VP, CIO, Dean, or Executive Director of Administrative Operations to strategically coordinate and manage HR for a large department, school, or unit.
Collaborate with Central HR and assist in all aspects of recruitment, compensation, benefits administration, employee training, employee relations, and salary equity coordination.
Act as the first point of contact for HRP‑related issues within the unit.
Direct and communicate HR initiatives.
Oversee the day‑to‑day management of multiple departments, including employees and processes.
Develop, maintain, implement, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) according to UAB policies.
Disseminate and implement all HR‑related changes and updates; ensure compliance with UAB and/or UAB Medicine Compensation guidelines.
Manage reporting deadlines, prepare reports, and file timely submissions after approvals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and ten (10) years of related experience (work experience does NOT substitute for the education requirement).
This position will serve as a strategic HR partner to the Facilities Division, providing leadership in workforce planning, employee relations, talent acquisition, and compliance. It ensures HR practices align with university policies and support operational goals for campus infrastructure and services.
