The Opportunity Join our Ledger and Recon Platform team, a critical component of Airwallex's mission to provide seamless financial management solutions. As Engineering Manager, you will build and scale key financial products and serve as a bridge between engineering domains and the finance division.
Lead development and enhancement of our internal ledger and reconciliation systems, ensuring accuracy, security, and innovation. Your accounting knowledge will facilitate effective collaboration with finance stakeholders. With Airwallex's rapid growth, tackle the challenge of developing scalable, extensible, and reliable technology infrastructure for our global business operations.
What You’ll Do
Team Leadership: Mentor and lead a team of skilled engineers, fostering a supportive, high‑performance environment.
Project Management: Plan, implement, and oversee engineering projects, ensuring high quality and timely delivery aligned with business objectives.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between engineering teams and the finance division, ensuring clear communication of accounting requirements.
Technical Guidance: Provide strategic direction and support in software development practices and system architecture with an emphasis on financial processes.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize product efficiency, security, and scalability using data‑driven approaches.
Security & Compliance: Ensure that all development procedures meet industry standards for data security and regulatory requirements.
Who You Are
Experienced Leader: Track record of managing and leading engineering teams, preferably in fintech or accounting sectors.
Technical Proficiency: Backend expertise, proficiency in Java or Kotlin.
Accounting Insight: Understanding of accrual‑based accounting and bookkeeping, with financial domain experience preferred.
Strong Communicator: Ability to convey technical and financial concepts to diverse audiences.
Collaborative & Inclusive: Committed to building a diverse culture.
Data‑Driven Decision‑Maker: Uses analytics to guide decisions and align efforts with business goals.
