Architectural Drafter – Luxury Residential Homes

Base pay range $55,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr

Position Summary

The Architectural Drafter will support the design and construction of high‑end, custom luxury homes by producing accurate, detailed architectural drawings and documentation. This role works closely with architects, designers, engineers, and builders to translate conceptual designs into precise technical plans. Ideal candidates have a strong eye for detail, proficiency in advanced drafting software, and an understanding of luxury residential construction standards, materials, and aesthetics.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Drafting: Prepare detailed architectural drawings, 2D plans, elevations, sections, and construction documents for custom luxury homes.

Develop 3D models, renderings, and presentation materials using CAD and BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.).

Translate architectural concepts, sketches, and design intent into accurate technical drawings.

Maintain accuracy in dimensions, materials, specifications, and building systems.

Work closely with architects, interior designers, structural engineers, and project managers.

Coordinate drawings across disciplines to ensure consistency and prevent design conflicts.

Support the architectural team during design development and construction phases.

Ensure all drawings meet code requirements, zoning regulations, and luxury home construction standards.

Update plans based on redlines, design revisions, site changes, and client feedback.

Maintain organized drawing sets and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Assist with permitting packages, builder sets, and detailed construction documents.

Provide support for material specifications, fixture layouts, custom millwork, cabinetry, and other high‑end design features.

Participate in on‑site visits and as‑built documentation when needed.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Drafting, or related field.

2–5+ years of drafting experience, preferably in luxury residential or custom home design.

Strong portfolio showing high‑quality architectural drafting and detailing.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and other relevant design tools.

Knowledge of residential construction systems, materials, and building codes.

Ability to produce highly detailed drawings and coordinate multiple sets.

Soft Skills

Strong attention to detail and design accuracy.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Problem‑solving mindset and ability to adapt to design changes.

Preferred Skills (Optional Enhancements)

Experience with luxury custom home finishes, millwork, and architectural detailing.

Familiarity with energy‑efficient home design and modern building technologies.

Experience using rendering tools (Lumion, Enscape, V‑Ray).

Knowledge of high‑end interior design standards.
