Raytheon’s Effectors Center within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) organization is hiring a Principal Systems Engineer to support Short Range Air Defense (SHORAD) and Precision Fire & Munitions (PF&M) programs. This task‑force style role focuses on architecture, requirements development, verification strategy, and oversight of verification artifacts in a fast‑paced development environment involving missiles, launchers, ground platforms, and training equipment.

What You Will Do

Create and manage system architecture, requirements, interface definitions, and system integration documents using Cameo.

Collaborate with IPTLs and SMEs to obtain necessary design information.

Engage suppliers and the Supply Chain team as Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) for procured assemblies.

Support flight test activities: field support, telemetry analysis, and drafting test reports.

Provide SE technical expertise for development, integration, troubleshooting, and failure investigations.

Lead technical discussions and formulate action plans with cross‑disciplinary SMEs.

Support Statistical Process Control assessments in factory and during hardware verification of missile sections, launch platforms, and higher level assemblies.

Lead peer reviews and formal release of CDRLs and the Technical Data Package documents.

Qualifications You Must Have

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of eight years of relevant experience.

Experience working independently with SMEs, CEs, LSEs, TAs, IPTLs, REAs, and other stakeholders to make informed technical design decisions.

Proficiency in leading the definition, decomposition, and verification approach of requirements using MBSE tools.

U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance (or higher).

Qualifications We Prefer

Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics.

Experience with cPDM, CCB, and formal engineering/document release processes.

Experience in requirements management using Cameo and in linking architecture and verification artifacts.

Experience developing and documenting system‑level software architecture for system and subsystem level requirements.

Strong communication, technical writing, and oral presentation skills with customers and stakeholders.

Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Familiarity with military systems, tactics, and DoD customer infrastructure.

Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
