Akkodis is seeking a
Design Release Engineer (Embedded System)
for a
Contract
with a client in
Dearborn, MI (Hybrid) . You will lead the design and release of trailer tow hardware and software systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and successful integration into vehicle environments.
Rate Range:
$40/hour to $45/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Design Release Engineer (Embedded System) job responsibilities include:
Develop and release trailer tow hardware, software, and systems, ensuring compliance with FMVSS and other regulatory requirements.
Lead design reviews with internal teams and suppliers and manage quality documentation throughout the development process.
Create and execute design verification plans (DVP) for bench, HIL, and vehicle testing, tracking progress in FEDE and JIRA.
Manage parts release in WERS and support program launches by resolving issues and presenting status updates to management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IVI, body, exterior, vehicle operations) to ensure interface and assembly requirements are met.
Support warranty analysis and quality improvement initiatives, including weekly reviews and data tracking using Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in automotive electrical systems design and testing.
Proficiency in design and release processes for complex automotive systems, including hardware and software integration.
Hands‑on experience with vehicle network tools (e.g., CANalyzer) and ability to execute design verification plans (DVP) for bench, HIL, and vehicle testing.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour
