Description Responsible for the care activities and goal achievements of assigned patients by assessing, diagnosing, planning and intervening in actual or potential health problems, and evaluating patient response to care. Responsible for health teaching and discharge planning. Acts as a member of a designated care team and collaborates, coordinates, and guides team members in planning patient care activities. Demonstrates behaviors that reflect scientific knowledge, judgment, and teaching skills of a professional nurse.
Responsibilities
Nursing assessment based on interview, examination, observation and review of patient records.
Develop a goal‑oriented care plan based on the nursing assessment, with participation of patient and significant others.
Perform nursing actions consistent with the care plan, medical regimen and hospital procedures.
Demonstrate a competent level of technical skill reflecting scientific knowledge, judgment and technical expertise of professional nursing.
Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of care and professional practice in collaboration with members of the health‑care team and in accordance with institutional policies and regulatory agency requirements.
Coordinate patient‑care activities, based on established priorities, including teaching, rounding, counseling, and discharge planning, and direct/delegate appropriately to members of the health‑care team.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science with a major in Nursing preferred.
Registered Nurse License and current registration in New York State required.
Minimum 1 year RN telemetry Med/Surg experience in a hospital setting. BCLS/ACLS certification required (American Heart Association); certification and EKG skills required.
Documented previous experience or educational preparation to support credentials. Relevant clinical competence in area of nursing practice. Special skills/experience may be required in specialized areas.
Special skills/experience may be required in specialized areas, including: remote telemetry, administration of IV antiarrhythmic drugs, EKG interpretation, IV therapy, remote telemetry, chemo, IV/Phlebotomy.

The salary range for the role is $55,352 – $61,829.70 per hour. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need.
