Registered Nurse – Mount Sinai Brooklyn, 1 North – Full-time – Days
Responsible for the care activities and goal achievements of assigned patients by assessing, diagnosing, planning, and intervening in actual or potential health problems and evaluating patients' responses to care. Responsible for health teaching and discharge planning. Acts as a member of a designated care team and collaborates, coordinates, and guides team members in planning patient care activities. Demonstrates behaviors that reflect the scientific knowledge, judgment, and teaching skills of a professional nurse.
Responsibilities
Nursing assessment based on interview, examination, observation, and review of records of the patient.
Develops a goal‑oriented care plan based on the nursing assessment, with participation of patient and significant others.
Ensures nursing actions are consistent with the care plan, medical regimen, and hospital procedures.
Demonstrates a competent level of technical skill reflecting the scientific knowledge, judgment, and technical skills of a professional nurse.
Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of care and professional practice in collaboration with members of the health‑care team and in accordance with institutional policies and regulatory agency requirements.
Coordinates patient‑care activities, based on established priorities, including teaching, rounding, counseling, and discharge planning, and directs or delegates appropriately to members of the health‑care team.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science with a major in Nursing preferred.
Registered Nurse License and current registration in New York State required.
Minimum 1 year RN telemetry Med/Surg experience in a hospital setting. BCLS/ACLS certification required (American Heart Association). Certification and EKG skills required.
Documented previous experience or educational preparation to support credentials. Relevant clinical competence in area of nursing practice. Special skills/experience may be required in specialized areas.
Special skills/experience may be required in specialized areas, including: remote telemetry, administration of IV antiarrhythmic drugs, EKG interpretation, IV therapy, remote telemetry, chemotherapy, IV/Phlebotomy.

Compensation The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with New York City Law on Salary Transparency. The salary range for the role is $55,352 – $61,829.70 per hour. Actual salaries depend on experience, education, and operational need. The listed salary range does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, or other compensation or benefits.
