As a Principal Test Equipment Design Engineer, you will lead the design and deployment of factory test systems, oversee test hardware/software/firmware development, and manage technical teams across the lifecycle from requirements to production. Your expertise will drive performance, reliability, and efficiency of test solutions for complex programs. Responsibilities

Partner with internal and external stakeholders to design and deploy complex factory test systems. Lead development of test hardware, software, and firmware from requirements through deployment in manufacturing or customer facilities. Collaborate early with Prime Engineering, Production, and Operations to assess capability and capacity for manufacturing test. Identify and resolve test readiness issues and optimize test processes throughout the lifecycle. Lead medium‑ to large‑sized teams to meet project budgets, schedules, and performance commitments. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers. Present project status to functional and program leadership. Track financial and earned‑value status for monthly reporting. Manage risks and opportunities proactively. Support manufacturing operations through onsite troubleshooting and debugging. Contribute to cost, schedule, and technical solutions for bid and proposal development. Qualifications You Must Have

Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). Minimum eight (8) years of relevant engineering experience. At least four (4) years in test equipment design and development. Proven experience leading technical teams and projects. U.S. citizenship; active and transferable Secret clearance (interim clearance required before start). Preferred Qualifications

Experience with MS Project, Jira/Confluence, and Earned Value Management System (EVMS). Proficiency with National Instruments’ TestStand, LabWindows/CVI, and/or LabVIEW. Background in digital, analog, RF, and power supply test hardware design. Experience with automation of commercial test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, network analyzers, power supplies). Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills. Salary range: $101,000 – $203,000 USD (representative of all experience levels).
