Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) position requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications, with float to ICU and both day and night shifts available.

Responsibilities

Work primarily in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) of a hospital setting Patient ratio of 1:4 Patient population includes cardiovascular, telemetry, and respiratory care cases Requires floating to ICU and may float to Med Surg as needed Shifts are 12 hours, with both day (7:00–19:30) and night (19:00–7:30) rotations Every other weekend and holiday coverage required Uses Cerner EMR; Cerner experience required Daily responsibilities include cardiac telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, and respiratory interventions Orientation and online modules to be completed prior to and during assignment, with up to 12 hours required Scrubs in ceil blue are required and not provided First-time travelers are welcome to apply If previously employed at the facility, at least 1 year must have passed before returning as a traveler Maximum of 7 days requested time off permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed in the first two weeks Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower rate

Requirements

Active MD or compact RN license required Minimum of 2 years IMC or similar experience required Valid ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required Competency in cardiac telemetry, IV therapy, phlebotomy, cerebrovascular accident care, and respiratory care required Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms Two supervisor references required for consideration Flu vaccine required
