Overview Insight Global’s client is looking for a General Area Manager. The General Manager leads one of the Company’s Business Units, owning full profit/loss responsibility for all facets of the operation. Working in a matrix environment, they manage an infrastructure team of division‑level managers across Operations, Fleet Management, Sales, Finance, Human Resources, Safety and Environmental Compliance, and Environmental Engineering.

Principal Responsibilities

Implements and executes plans that complement the area’s strategic operating plan, championing execution of tactical initiatives that enhance safety, customer experience, efficiency and profitability.

Works with area and region sales management to drive commercial, industrial, residential and municipal sales efforts, achieving growth objectives, exceeding customer experience expectations and optimizing profitability.

Oversees effective safety and accident prevention programs, ensuring a safe and productive work environment for all employees.

Leads operations to ensure compliance with environmental, operating, regulatory, safety, accounting and ethics standards.

Manages performance and talent development.

Builds and maintains strong relationships with government, community and environmental groups.

Travel required by air, car or other modes up to 30% of the time.

Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

High school diploma or G.E.D.

Minimum 3 years of progressive leadership and management responsibility.

Minimum 3 years of P&L experience.

Preferred: prior experience in the environmental services industry.

Preferred: prior employment by a Fortune‑500 company.

Preferred: experience in labor relations.

Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership and management responsibility (for higher‑level roles).

Nice to Have

Previous experience in the environmental services industry.

Previous employment by a Fortune‑500 company.

Experience in labor relations.

Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership and management responsibility.
