Position Summary The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for leading financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and performance analytics for the enterprise. This role partners closely with the CFO and senior operational leaders to drive decision-making and support business growth across our studio network. The Director will lead planning cycles, build financial models, develop tools and dashboards, and provide actionable analysis that enhances both corporate and field execution.
Primary Responsibilities Strategic Finance & Planning
Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
Evaluate business cases, investment opportunities, pricing strategies, labor planning models, and performance drivers.
Support strategic resource planning, compensation analysis, studio economics, and expansion considerations.
Reporting & Performance Analytics
Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for leadership and board review.
Analyze performance trends across membership, revenue, labor, margin, operating costs, and profitability.
Create dashboards, KPI scorecards, and tools that support accountability and decision-making at all levels.
Identify risks and opportunities within studio financial performance and recommend corrective actions.
Business Partnering & Influence
Partner with Operations, People, Marketing, and Real Estate leaders to drive performance insights and business recommendations.
Provide decision support to regional leadership and studio-level operators.
Translate financial results into actionable insights for both financial and non-financial audiences.
Systems & Process Improvement
Enhance forecasting tools, financial models, and reporting frameworks.
Drive financial system optimization and increased automation.
Standardize reporting processes and elevate financial literacy throughout the organization.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field. MBA preferred.
7–10 years of progressive FP&A, corporate finance, strategic analysis, or equivalent experience.
Proven success leading budget and forecasting processes.
Strong modeling and analytical skills with advanced Excel proficiency.
Ability to communicate clearly, influence stakeholders, and simplify complex financial concepts.
Preferred
Multi-unit retail, fitness, hospitality, consumer services, or franchise-based industry experience.
Experience supporting operations-focused business units or field organizations.
Familiarity with BI tools, dashboarding platforms, and financial planning systems.
