What You'll Do

Perform system control integration of next generation Tesla industrial energy storage

Hands‑on testing, debugging and troubleshooting on product hardware and software

Designing and implementing next generation automated test sequence to fully capture BESS system with grid interaction behavior

Lead and own test plan definition for new firmware and software feature with continuous feedback for new hardware revisions

Identify, elevate, and resolve issues with hardware and firmware during system bring up, utility performance, and grid contingency test

Key leader of FMEA as part of the product design, integration, and test process

What You'll Bring

Degree in Electrical Engineering with control focus, or equivalent experience

Strong working knowledge of control theory, stability, transfer functions and control block diagrams

Experience with Python and modeling & simulation software (e.g. MATLAB/Simulink)

Hands‑on experience with Modbus and CAN

Hands‑on experience with electrical, mechanical, and software engineering components and an understanding of how they interact in a complex product

Working understanding of how grid‑tied storage systems function and interact with the grid

AC connected power electronics control design/test background and systems integration experience

Exceptional analytical problem‑solving skills, able to identify and surface issues within complex HW/SW systems

Effective communicator and excellent attention to detail

Preferred: Fluent with the embedded microprocessor design process: compilers, debuggers, and Git

Expected Compensation $133,440 - $292,800/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits.

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
