We are looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineer to contribute to the development of electrical interconnection processes for our cutting‑edge battery products. In this role you will drive technological advancement in this discipline as part of a small, specialized team. Battery development is at the heart of our company, and this is an exciting opportunity to work directly on the central challenges with electric vehicles, battery cost, and performance. Tesla is a demanding and fast‑paced environment where you will work with a highly motivated team on extremely challenging projects.
What You’ll Do
Design electrical interconnection processes and equipment such as laser welding
Provide interconnect Design for Manufacturability (DFM) & Reliability (DFR) input to product designers
Validate and optimize processes from early prototype builds through full volume production
Drive proof‑of‑concept to green light new and novel methods, technologies, and suppliers
Evolve the electrical interconnection knowledge base through experimentation and benchmarking
What You’ll Bring
3+ years of engineering, or equivalent relevant experience
Experience developing and implementing electrical interconnect processes and equipment in high‑volume production (laser welding, ultrasonic wire bonding, ultrasonic welding, soldering)
Proficiency in geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T) and experimental design
Capability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally
Degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials, or equivalent experience

Expected Compensation $80,000 - $174,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
