Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery night shift position requiring at least 2 years of experience and an active WA or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
Work in a hospital Labor and Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
Patient population includes labor, preterm labor, low risk antepartum, and OB-GYN surgical cases
1:1 to 1:3 nurse-to-patient staffing ratio
Night shifts, 3x12 hours per week (19:00 to 7:30)
Float required to Post-Partum and NICU units based on skill set
Use of Epic EMR is required
Perform and assist with special procedures such as blood product administration, cardioversion, drains, epidural and PCA pumps, and wound care
Will attend all deliveries, including high risk cases, provide couplet care, and manage transition nursery responsibilities
Role includes circulating, scrubbing, pre-op, and post-op duties as applicable
Travelers may be required to float to other units or facilities within the state as needed
Minimal to no requested time off (RTO) is accepted; all RTO must be declared at submission
Returning perm employees must have separated at least 3 months before assignment and cannot live within 50 miles of the facility
Scrub or dress code requirements will be specified by the facility
All mandatory onboarding and training modules must be completed prior to start
Requirements
Active RN license in WA or compact state required
Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
Epic EMR experience required
Must provide proof of address (driver’s license) for compliance with facility radius rules
Two supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years in comparable specialty required
Current certifications relevant to Labor and Delivery as specified in the job description
Must not be a first-time traveler
