Overview
Corporate Counsel at GFT. An experienced, tech‑savvy attorney will join the in‑house legal team to support leadership and project teams across the organization.
Responsibilities
Review, negotiate, and advise on professional services contracts and related documents with clients, subconsultants, vendors, and partners.
Provide practical, timely legal guidance to operations and corporate staff on risk, compliance, and governance matters.
Collaborate with functional teams (Safety, Accounting, HR, IT, BD/Marketing) to develop policies, procedures, and training materials.
Manage a variety of legal issues assigned by the Senior Corporate Counsel, including claims, litigation, contract disputes, collections, research, and compliance.
Strategic Focus Areas
Shape GFT’s legal approach to digital delivery, intellectual property protection, technology contracting, outsourcing models, and emerging technologies.
Support brand protection and marketing efforts, such as trademark use, promotional material clearance, and third‑party content rights.
Advise on data privacy, consumer protection, and confidential information management in coordination with FSO, IT, and cybersecurity teams.
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.
Active bar license in good standing in at least one U.S. state.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills with a business‑mindful, solutions‑oriented approach.
Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Collaborative mindset and ability to build trust across cross‑functional teams.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality and consistency.
Experience in a corporate legal department or as outside counsel to corporate clients.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience advising clients in the engineering, architecture, or construction industry.
Knowledge of legal issues surrounding emerging technologies (IP, cyber security, data privacy).
Compensation The salary range is $135,000 – $190,000, dependent on experience and geographic location.
