Position Location: This position will be located at the Princeton, NJ US Headquarters site. Our Sandoz flexible hybrid working approach allows US office-based employees to work up to 50% of their monthly workday remotely. This role will not have the ability to be located remotely. Preference will be given to local candidates not requiring relocation.

The Associate Director, Specialty Contracting, will report to the Head, Specialty Contracting & Operations and will be responsible for drafting Market Access contracts for assigned accounts, managing the end-to-end contracting process including, but not limited to: contract and template design, development, drafting, contract approval process, submission of contracts to internal and external customers for review, managing the redline process with customers and internal stakeholders, contract execution, and interfacing with Contract Operations to assist with managing agreements in Sandoz Contract Lifecycle Management system.

Major Accountabilities

Manage the end-to-end contracting process for assigned accounts. Draft, negotiate and execute contracts with the following customers: MCOs, PBMs, Health Plans, Specialty Pharmacies, Specialty Distributors, GPOs and Integrated Delivery Networks

Collaborate with the Market Access & Account Strategy team on the development and implementation of new product and contracting strategies, as well as new product launches

Liaise with Legal and internal business partners in the development of standard and customized terms and conditions. Ensure all financial, legal, compliance and corporate guidelines are met. Develop and maintain appropriate contract templates to support approved contracting strategy

Work with Account Managers and internal team members to ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements

Provide guidance and mentoring to the Contracts team members in support of their deliverables and projects, train the team on new processes and provide ongoing standard methodology sharing

Minimum Requirements What you’ll bring to the role:

Work Experience

A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of Contract drafting and negotiations of pharmaceutical commercial contracts is required

An advanced understanding of legal and business aspects of commercial pharmaceutical contracts, including interpretation of contract terms, is required

Broad-based contracting experience across multiple customer segments (Managed Care, Specialty Pharmacies, Distribution, Institutional) is required

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills required, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management and collaborate across departments and functions

Highly developed time management skills with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities with a high degree of initiative required

Preferred Requirements

People management experience is preferred

An advanced degree in Legal Studies, Health Administration, or Business Administration is preferred

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $145,600 – $270,400 USD/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/25 through 12/31/25, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

On September 30, 2021, Sandoz entered into a 5-year Corporate Integrity Agreement. Certain positions will have responsibilities to support the execution and adherence to CIA obligations, CIA-related deliverables, and any relevant audit, monitoring or Independent Review Organization (IRO) remediation. This role will have sub certifier responsibilities.
