Tax Services Senior Analyst – FSO – State & Local Tax EDGE, Income Tax
Location: Anywhere in Country
At EY, you will join the Financial Services Organization (FSO) as part of our EDGE State & Local Tax practice, providing specialized tax technical services to both U.S. and global clients. This role involves collaborating with a diverse team, delivering tax compliance and consulting work, and driving solutions that help our clients meet their growing state‑ and local‑tax obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Analyzing an evolving portfolio of complex tax operations to provide meaningful business insights
Identifying potential opportunities and risks and communicating these to our clients
Learning and researching current market trends, to maintain your credibility as a trusted advisor
Developing clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve our clients’ tax activities
Researching our clients’ business operations and building long‑lasting relationships to tailor your advice to their specific needs
Working with a motivated team of professionals
Building effective long‑term relationships with our clients
Maintaining your reputation in your field by constantly updating and sharing your technical and finest practice knowledge
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline or a graduate degree in Tax or Law
Progress toward CPA or Enrolled Agent license
A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in professional services or a professional tax organization
A thorough understanding of automated tax processing systems and laws within your area of technical professionalism
Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills, and the confidence to challenge senior colleagues and stakeholders from a diverse range of backgrounds
A commitment to continuing your learning
A thorough understanding of state and local partnership tax (ideal)
Proficiency in Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) (ideal)
Experience with Return Preparation Software (ideal)
Experience working in a variety of teams (ideal)
Ability to adapt your work style to work with both internal and client team members (ideal)
What We Offer You
Comprehensive compensation and benefits package with competitive base salary: $81,900 – $135,100 nationally (higher ranges in New York City, Washington State, and California). Total Rewards include medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
Hybrid work model: most external, client‑serving roles work together in person 40–60 % of the time.
