Our esteemed client in Bergen County, New Jersey is seeking a highly organized, detail-driven
Bookkeeper/Controller
to support the CFO and oversee financial operations across multiple business entities. This is a hands‑on, onsite role ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in a small, collaborative, and fast‑paced environment.
Base pay range $80,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct, day-to-day financial and operational support to the CFO, including assistance with special projects
Manage full-cycle accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Profit & Loss statements, balance sheets, journal entries, and financial statement reviews
Perform financial modeling and assist with budgeting and forecasting
Handle general administrative responsibilities such as mail processing, data entry, filing, and digital record organization
Oversee bookkeeping functions for the affiliated clothing business
Maintain accurate records and entity tracking within QuickBooks for multiple business lines
Ensure proper structure and upkeep of the company’s digital filing and organizational systems
Support ongoing special projects, process improvements, and operational initiatives
Leverage AI tools to improve workflow efficiency and reporting accuracy
Qualifications
5+ years of hands‑on experience with
QuickBooks
and
Microsoft Excel
(advanced proficiency strongly preferred)
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills;
Spanish fluency is a plus
Exceptional organizational skills with a professional, adaptable, and positive demeanor
Strongly preferred: experience in
Real Estate Development
or
Land Development
accounting
Comfortable adapting to new technologies, including AI-based tools
Ability to work independently within a small team (approx. 15 full‑time employees)
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across teams and departments
