Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for Level 1 Trauma Center coverage with mandatory float requirements and a current IL RN license.
Responsibilities
Position is based in the ICU within a Level 1 Trauma Center
RNs may float between Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU as well as MS units if needed
Three 12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Must work every other weekend (two weekends per month)
First week includes orientation and a precepting shift on days
Uses Cerner EMR system
Mandatory floating to different ICU units and facilities within 50 miles at the employer's discretion
Must adhere strictly to the facility's RTO policy: maximum 5 days off, no more than 2 consecutive days, no RTO on weekends, holidays, or days adjacent to holidays
No block scheduling or special scheduling requests permitted
Navy blue scrubs required and are not provided by the facility
Team-based model may be used if floated outside primary competency area
Failure to float as needed may result in contract cancellation
Very strict compliance and onboarding process with required lab work completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance
Requirements
Active and unrestricted IL RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
Minimum of 2 years recent ICU acute care experience
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Must be fully COVID vaccinated as a condition for employment
Local candidates preferred; must live within 75 miles of the facility
