Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with an active Illinois license and experience for a busy Level I Trauma Center.
Responsibilities
Work in multiple ICU environments, including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU
Patient population includes critically ill adults requiring advanced care
Mandatory floating to different ICU units and occasionally to MS units based on staffing needs
Night shifts, 3x12 hours (7:00 pm - 7:30 am), with no block scheduling allowed
First week of orientation and precepting will be on days
Work every other weekend, totaling two weekends per month
Uses Cerner EMR system
Strict RTO policy: maximum of 5 days off, no more than 2 consecutive days, no weekends or holidays, and none the day before or after a holiday
Team-based assignments in units outside primary competency area as needed
Floating may occur outside the home facility within a 50-mile radius with notice two hours before shift
Level 1 Trauma Center environment with high acuity cases
Navy blue scrubs required; not provided
Requirements
Active IL RN license required, no pending licensure allowed
Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU experience required
Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
Must live within 75 miles of the facility
COVID vaccination required
