What To Expect We are looking for a Software Integration Engineer to join our Factory Firmware Team to help lead a wide variety of cross‑functional initiatives including tracking change management, developing close partnerships with local manufacturing leaders, leveraging data to make informed team decisions, educating cross‑functional team members on Vehicle Firmware, and leading the integration of new vehicle programs into the manufacturing environment. In this role you will be leaned on as a team leader ensuring the team is working toward common goals and helping remove roadblocks that may come up. It is important this person is organized, able to balance priorities, and “wear multiple hats”. The Factory Firmware Team operates as the eyes and ears of the Firmware organization within the factory and often has the last say on the deployment of new firmware to manufacturing – providing valuable insight and feedback to accelerate the development and launch of exciting new hardware and software features. We take the role seriously to ensure our Tesla cars are safe and of good software quality.
What You’ll Do
Coordinated change control between R&D Engineering & Manufacturing, ensuring change control goes smoothly and appropriate resources are assigned
Designed, improved, and enforced processes to ensure an organized method to track multiple changes, improve internal efficiency, and address identified gaps
Analytically leveraged data and dashboards to find trends, track changes, review logs, and identify opportunities to improve operations and/or help triage issues
Managed cross‑functional factory‑facing integration projects/programs from end to end
Communicated clearly, regularly, and effectively with leadership, cross‑functional stakeholders, and internal team members in both written, verbal, and in person
Maintained a high degree of confidentiality and exercised sound business judgment
Leveraged first‑principles engineering thinking to solve problems
Worked alongside engineers to understand issues, represented the larger Vehicle Software organization (as needed), and was in place to remove roadblocks
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent experience with evidence of exceptional ability
2+ years of Technical Program Management experience managing consumer‑facing software programs, manufacturing programs, and/or embedded systems
Ability to work with limited resources, independently, under tight deadlines, and with urgency
Track record of leading teams and forming strong relationships with cross‑functional teams (Manufacturing and Engineering)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational skills and detail‑oriented with a demonstrated ability to self‑motivate and follow‑through on projects
Track record of managing complex technology projects end‑to‑end
Ability to evaluate processes/programs for strengths and weaknesses and balance technical trade‑offs against business ones
Solid critical thinking skills to triage issues, understand hardware/software inter‑dependencies, root cause analysis, and drive toward solutions
Experience working in or with mass manufacturing, electric vehicles, or an automotive background, preferred

Compensation $133,440 - $292,800 annual salary plus cash and stock awards and benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
