We Are Currently Recruiting For The Position Of
Assistant Store Manager - Lucky, 815 Marina Village Pkwy, Alameda, CA 94501
The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) works in tandem with the Store Manager in directing and leading all aspects of day‑to‑day store operations. The ASM is responsible for overall direction and leadership of store‑operations, makes final decisions in the absence of the Store Manager, and manages store conditions, product quality, and inventory. The ASM leads front‑end and center‑store operations, provides team members with assignments, training, coaching, and counseling, and ensures compliance with company standards and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
Excellent leadership and team‑building skills; manage front‑end operations, oversee cash management, and develop staff schedules.
Oversee, evaluate, diagnose, and resolve inventory issues with vendors and warehouses; audit product quality to maintain “date integrity.”
Supervise and coach team members, conduct performance reviews, and handle advancement and disciplinary decisions.
Manage the in‑store training program and develop training content to improve team performance.
Provide developmental opportunities for all team members, including individualized and group training.
Participate in recruiting and hiring, evaluating applicants, conducting interviews, and overseeing training for new hires.
Work with the Store Manager to manage a sales‑oriented team and maintain performance at the front‑end and center store levels.
Promote effective two‑way communication with customers and staff, identify improvement areas, and develop store‑specific programs.
Drive customer focus, support Customer Connection programs, and ensure exceptional shopping experiences.
Support achievement of storewide sales goals; analyze sales and profitability data and recommend cost controls.
Direct team members in product recalls, store cleanliness, maintenance, and represent the store during inspections.
Ensure compliance with company sanitation, safety, and security policies and maintain legal mandates.
Hiring Pay Range : $77,091.00 - $101,182.00
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Excellent leadership/team building skills.
Strong communication (written and verbal).
Excellent interpersonal, customer service, coaching/mentoring, and training skills.
Proven decision‑making, delegation, and negotiation abilities.
Strong organization, administration, and financial skills.
Fundamental understanding of labor contracts.
Knowledge of store operations, financials, hazardous materials, food safety rules, employment law, union agreements, interviewing techniques, and hiring practices.
Education : Four‑year college degree (or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience)
Experience : Two years of related experience
Physical : Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull, and lift objects in a basic office environment.
