Base pay range: $100,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr

Water/Wastewater Superintendent The Water/Wastewater Superintendent is responsible for the on‑site management, coordination, and supervision of construction activities for municipal water and wastewater treatment facility projects. This role ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements. The superintendent will oversee field crews, subcontractors, scheduling, quality control, and daily operations on complex, process‑driven infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise daily field operations for water and wastewater construction projects, including treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, and related infrastructure.

Coordinate subcontractors, craft labor, equipment, and materials to ensure an efficient workflow.

Maintain and enforce a strong safety culture; conduct daily/weekly safety meetings and enforce OSHA and company safety standards.

Interpret and implement plans, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings.

Work closely with project managers, engineers, and owners to ensure project requirements are being met.

Develop and maintain short‑interval schedules; track production and progress.

Oversee installation and startup of mechanical, electrical, and process equipment such as pumps, blowers, clarifiers, chemical feed systems, valves, piping, and controls.

Ensure quality control standards and inspection requirements are met throughout construction.

Manage site documentation including daily logs, reports, timesheets, and issue tracking.

Troubleshoot field construction challenges and provide solutions to maintain schedule and quality.

Support commissioning, system testing, and project turnover activities.

Qualifications

5+ years of superintendent or lead foreman experience with water/wastewater treatment plant construction (required).

Strong knowledge of civil, mechanical, and process piping systems specific to municipal water/wastewater facilities.

Proven ability to supervise crews, coordinate subcontractors, and run a jobsite independently.

Experience with construction scheduling, planning, and productivity tracking.

Understanding of regulatory and environmental requirements related to water/wastewater infrastructure.

Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to work closely with owners, engineers, and project teams.

OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

Proficiency with construction technology tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project) a plus.

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within project locations around Connecticut.

Required Skills Strong knowledge of civil, mechanical, and process piping systems specific to municipal water/wastewater facilities.

Preferred Skills OSHA 30 certification preferred. Proficiency with construction technology tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project) a plus.
